recording to pro tools with midi interface

Hi!
I have a question for u cause i have an mpc 1000 with an m-box that comes with pro tools and I want to record my beats on the mpc1000 to pro tools, I bought a midi interface(1in 2outs) to sync the mpc1000 to pro tools. But how do I go about doing this.
Do i have to change settings on the mpc and pro tools If so what do i change, and do i record on midi tracks or audio tracks in pro tools.
I managed to sync the two but when i tried recording i just got a flat line going, therefore no sound was being recorded

I think we have to refer you to the Newbie forum now. All the stuff you're asking is in the manuals for the products you have, or basic MIDI concepts like master/slave sync. We kinda hope that folks posting on this forum can handle that stuff - look at level of the other questions - and don't be too surprised that folks here don't give you much of their time...
