Note repeat beginner problems

I'm pretty new to the MPC so please bear with me!

I'm running the free JJOS.

For me, the note repeat feature only works when I'm NOT playing back a sequence or trying to record. As soon as I press play, or REC then play, the note repeat feature stops working. I tried the shift hold thing and it didnt help either. it just plays the note one time.

Tried restarting. Tried finding something in the manual. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I have noticed that if you hit record and play that the note repeat doesnt work until the sequence starts to play. Is it still not working after the sequence starts?
also check your time correct, if you have it set to off, note repeat wont work.

Yes, I do have the TC on, and the timing correct actually only works BEFORE the sequence starts playing! When nothing is playing it works totally fine, as soon as i press play or record then play it stops. what gives!

It sound like you have to set the value.While holding down Note Repeat select
buttons F1 thru F6.

unfortunately it's not that either. when i try to set the tempo it still just does nothing when the sequence is playing.
