MPC pads malfunction after 40 min. of use

I have the following problem and questions regarding it.

After the mpc1000 is plugged for about 30-40 minutes time, the pads seem to
loose the contact and are not responsive at all. Everything else on the MPC is functioning except the pads. I switch off and switch on, and the problem disappears
however shortly after restarting the MPC i have the same problem.
I'd like to know how can i resolve this problem, am i supposed to buy this

and my problems will be solved or it has even more complicated problem that i am not aware of it.

Do i have to upgrade/change my JJOS 4.99 if i am supposed to get the bundle in order to overcome the problem i already have or i am fine with the current version of OS.

Which version of the MPC1000 pads do you have now - open her up and have a look.

The original system has 16 individual pads, each with the sensor built into the pad itself. They tend to fail gradually, one at a time rather than all the pads going wrong simultaneously.

If it's the new style with a single sensor sheet, then perhaps there's an issue with the main connector from the sensor sheet to the main board, perhaps the heat is eventually causing a short. That said, I've found that if the sensor sheet connector is not attached correctly the entire unit just keep rebooting.

It could just be a faulty sensor sheet, so if you have the 'new style' pads already, you'd only need to replace the sensor sheet.

But personally I don't know exactly what the problem might be, it could just be a loose connection, it could be a faulty main board, it could even be an OS problem, so unless someone has experienced the same and can confirm the fix, you might want to first perform some level of internal investigation to see if there's anything obvious.

Before that, try reinitialising your unit (hold down ERASE, turn on, keep ERASE held down until the OS has fully loaded). Also update the OS to 5.00 as I believe that's the latest, or even try rolling back to free JJOS or Akai OS temporarily.

I have the standard pads, that come with it when you buy it.

In addition to the problem the pads are not functioning at all, meaning that no matter which you press out of the 16, there is nothing happening.

I will have to try some of the answers that you gave me, and let you know in a while.

Akai used two different pad sensor designs in the MPC1000. Originally they came with the 16 individual sensors, which had a high failure rate and felt poor, so they eventually changed to a single sensor sheet like all other MPCs. So your 'standard' factory pads can be either of these depending on when it was manufactured.

All blue MPC1000s were made with the individual pads sensors, however many black 1000s also feature these.

Also if you bought second hand, then the previous owner may have changed the pads from the factory ones.

So the best way to find out is to open her up and have a look, you need to open her up anyway to check for loose or faulty connections or other signs of damage.
