MPC 128MB ram not fitting

Yo I'mnnewto the forums and iI'm having a problem with the RAM not fitting. It seems too be the right kind but aren't the gold contacts suposed to be hidden completely when the RAM is inserted? Do I need to hammer it in the RAM Slot? Please help

Small hammers are best, once you get up to sledge hammer size, it is easy to break stuff accidentally.
