i found out that you can record real-time changes of pitch/tune/filter into the seq on pads with the sliders...if i was to do the same thing only wanting to control an external module/sampler with this effect will it transmit this??

thanks

Older MPCs (at least the 2000, which I used to own) could transmit a CC of your choice using the slider, which you could assign to the filter or cutoff/shaping/PWM/whatever on an external module.

The 1k, however, can not send MIDI using the slider, it ONLY affects internal samples.

Weird, none of the MPC's I owned ever did that (including the 2k). Are you sure? There was an incoming CC assignment so that you could control the slider from an external source but not one the other way around.

But you can always record incoming CC from whatever source you have - keyboard wheels, knobs on another box, whatever - to the sequencer. Just get the CC no. right before recording, there's no quick way in the MPC to remap a bunch of CC events to a different CC#.

I s'pose that could be. Don't have the 2k anymore, and when I did have it and noticed this feature (which I may have confused as you say), I didn't really have any MIDI-controllable gear, or wasn't making use of it anyhow. I'm sure it would be described in the old manuals (still available online?) but I figure you'd know best, MG.
