This is a link pertaining to the same question but is 10 years old!

Basically, while listening back to a sequence the MPC, intermittently, will let out super loud static out of nowhere, and no other sound. It sounds like white noise from a TV on channel 3.

It also went in to a computer error screen as well, but only did that once.

I've tried setting the trim to 0 as suggested, and still the same thing is happening. This is the blue and black model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys! Thank you in advance!!

power supply issues i think. watch for when it happens, and if the screen gets really pale for a second before it gives an error, i think voltage went below the cpu requirement and the os crashed. my guess.

these things are only meant to last so long. get a new power supply.

It only gave the error once, and the screen looked fine. The static sound is the main problem. And my mistake, I'm writing this in for a friend, it's the all black model if that helps any.

the error tells you you have lost power. watch the screen before it shows error for signs of momentary fade outs. such as when playing a sequence of internal sounds using filters, lfos, envelopes and effects (so theres a cpu spike, ie a momentary power draw) or when the hard drive spins up or loads something.
