mpc drum kits...help.

is it a good idea to track drum sounds, from a sound module like motif or triton, onto protools? then tweak the sound and sample it back into the mpc to make drum kits. any answers would be helpful and appreciated. im tired of trying with the motif drums, they dont have enough punch.

I would sample straight into the mpc to make my drum kits and tweak it from there........Then i would track into pro tools to add the finishing touches!.....

I use the drum kits that I've downloaded from the various free sites, then record them to Pro Tools, usually one track at a time, and I use my plugins to tweak the individual drum hits.

ya I'd get them into the computer and tweak them, ...it's amazing what a little EQ[sonalkiss sv517 vst] and some compression[Try Voxengo vst plugins or Waves] will do to fatten up/tighten up a sound[some distortion or a gate can help too]... then chop em, and put them in the 1k... it's all about getting a sound you like... And, one thing I've learned since I started making beats is try everything... once you have a basic understanding of sound... and you know your gear just start fhucking around with it.

thanx for the response's i have been messing around with it for the past few days. just not getting the snares to hit hard like i want them to. but imma keep trying.
