Hello,
Been struggling with this for awhile. Watched a couple youtubes, read a couple tutorials, read the manual, dug through the forums and I am not finding what I need. I still can't figure it out.
Blue MPC1000
128MB Ram
40 G Hard Drive
JJOS1 5.00
I have a song comprised of 5 different sequences. I would like to have a MIDI track that can play over the top of the entire song. This may or may not be possible, I don't know.
What I have been able to do is hook up IN and OUT on both MPC1000 and an old synth. On the SONG screen of MPC I press OVERDUB then PLAYSTART and it records MIDI for that particular sequence. The recorded MIDI track is just the internal note assigned to pads that are firing my drums sounds (kick drum assigned to A1 also plays a MIDI C#1 for instance). I don't want to record the notes played from the MPC pads when the drums fire...
What I would like to be able to do is press OVERDUB then PLAYSTART. Then begin playing a melody on my synth and have that data recorded so that next time I play the song it triggers what I have played.
I also have a gate effect pedal that uses the Master Clock of the MPC to set it's tempo. I have that hooked up to one synth and working. I need to keep that running while sending out one or possibly two other MIDI tracks to control two synths.
Does this make sense!? Thanks in advance!!!
