Getting MPC 4k sequences to work on MPC 1k...?

been searching for a way to do this as my buddy just dropped off a flash drive with a bunch of samples, the program, and the sequence file of a beat we're working on. ive got the program and samples on my 1k working fine using Awave to convert the files. since he has the 4k and i have the 1k the sequence files aren't the same, but when converted to an SEQ file in Awave it still isn't recognized on my 1k. is there any way to get the sequence and tracks he recorded on his 4k to function on my 1k? just keeps saying wrong file but there is no other type of SEQ file i can convert to in Awave....

interesting. how thorough is the program conversion?

also does a midi file keep tracks in place?

i read somewhere note numbers are screwed up in the conversion.

pretty thorough. kept all the filters, levels, and tuning that he did to each sample so once i got the sequence on there everything was good to go. the only thing that sucks about Awave is the trial only lasts 30 days and its 100 bucks to buy, but if you plan on making these conversions constantly then its the way to go
