audio files 16 bits

i have some drum kits that are in 16 bits but my mpc says wrong file or file not found i try everything, audio converters and still dont work... i dont know whats the problem ... i have jj os free version

Are they 44.1kHz/16bit WAV files?

yap... 44.1khz and nothing...weird i think the mpc is gonne...

I have seen 44.1kHz/16bit WAV files, created in Pro Tools, not load into an MPC2000XL, due to extra file headers included in the WAV file by Pro Tools, no idea if similar issues occur with the MPC1000. That was solved by opening and resaving in another program, possibly Audacity, can't remember exactly.

Maybe something to do with a filename that the MPC doesn't like, too long/special characters, or a faulty CF card, or bent/broken CF card slot pins?

I had files that did that on occasions. WAV- check 16bit-check 44.1-check Filename-check. But still didn't like them. So i put them into iTunes & batch converted to WAV (even though they were WAVs) then the converted files worked fine. So I just do that when I get arsey files.
