MPC Mixer Issues - Please Help !!!

When I go into the mixer in my MPC 1000 to edit the levels of my drums mostly sometimes or rather mist I found the time the samples I am trying to edit will automatically pan left or right on their in and sometimes the volume levels will drop all the way to zero on their own and it is Really Really Annoying...  I am now afraid to go into my mixer when I'm making beats because if this... 


I Don't know what to do ? 


Should I buy a New Mpc 1000 all together ?


Please help me and guide me

what OS are you using?

in jjos the q-link faders are linked to volume and pan in the mixer page. if your q-links are faulty they can sometimes output data without being touched, causing sudden jumps in settings in certain pages.

my top one is totally screwed and does this ALL THE TIME! it is super annoying so i feel your pain bro.

there isn't much you can do except perhaps edit pans from program page instead (if you have jj... can't remember if this is possible in akai os... haven't touched that thing in yeeears)

the other thing is to replace it. if you have soldering chops it shouldn't be that tricky. be sure to use desolder braid and be careful. a local electronics store should be able to match the part for you... other wise they are available online. do some searching... and don't buy em from MPCstuff - they mark em up A LOT! (no disrespect to them, they do great work)

if you don't have jj then i have no idea.

Definitely sounds like a Q-link issue.

Before resorting to anything costly, try this free possible solution:

Open up the MPC and unplug the Q-link board connector, then plug it back in.
In fact, while you're in there, unplug all the connectors on the right-hand board, the one with all the buttons, and put them back in. (I believe the only other relevant one is on the top edge, but I forget)

If there's a poor electrical contact in any of those connectors, it could cause any sort of erratic behavior. Re-seating the connectors is likely to help.
For example, one pin of the connector might be only partially contacting, causing the q-link reading to jump. Or if the connection is entirely bad, the q-link input won't actually be connected to the slider; it'll be floating, constantly reading random values.
