MPC 1000 wont start. Screen Flashes on and off when power pr

So my 1000 wont power on. It flashes a blank screen every few seconds when the power button is pressed. Just wondering if similar issue has been dealt with, or anyone has any suggestions. Is it worth the repair?

How long have you had your MPC? Did you purchase it directly from a store (brick-and-mortar/online/etc.) or did you purchase it second-hand off eBay/craigslist/friend?

Not sure how comfortable you are opening your MPC, but have you looked inside to see if there's any metal parts touching that shouldn't be? Sounds like there's a short going on immediately after you turn your MPC on. If there's a metal plate/screw that is touching something it's not supposed to, your MPC will act a damn fool. A buddy of mine had the metal eject button casing slide off his CF card reader and it started to short his machine. If you're brave, take a look inside and see if anything is out of whack.

If you have ram installed, remove it and then turn on the MPC.

Check to see if any of the pins in the CF card slot are bent and touching each other.

Did you mess around with your pads recently? There may be a button stuck.
