sp 404 to mpc 1000

peace I'm trying to set my sp 404 as a fx processor within my mpc 1000 when i apply an effect from the sp 404 to one of my chops in the mpc and go to record the effect it is not there when i playback why is this i need thee effect to be there when i record have i not done something right as far hooking it up the proper way i am not a technical person so if some one can give me some info please make it simple and plain peace.....

my mpc stereo outs are in the 404 line in and my 404 line outs are running in to my mbox inputs 1& 2 thats how i track out in logic let me know thanks....

Audio out of MPC >> Audio in on 404

Now, you need to press "EXT SOURCE" - select an effect and make sure your "EXT SOURCE" pad is selected (by holding the "Remain" button, press "EXT SOURCE").

Play the chops on your MPC - you should hear them being processed by your 404.

Once you find what you like you need to go into sampling mode on the 404, select what pad to record to, play sound from MPC. Stop recording.

Press the pad you recorded to on the 404.
Listen - you should hear the sound you played from the MPC with the effect from the 404.

Do that how ever much you want and you're good to go.
