I hope this hasn't been covered yet, but

anyone else notice that you can't change sequences when you've used punch-in record to improv?
I use my 1000 live most of the time, and just jam with it. I got all my loops and sequences set up so that I can move from one to the next without interupting the flow of the beats. That way I can use it for live mixes...BUT if I want to improvise some beats within an already written sequence, i've got to press stop and restart before I can change sequences...bizarrrrr.
am i missing something?

nah youre not missing anything

it wont change a lot of stuff until youve hit stop, sequences, tempo, etc

that's too bad. Akai advertised this thing as a "live" machine...
Not being able to change tempo without stopping is unfortunate. Also haveing to stop after punch-in recording is a pain...although i've gotten really good at stopping and starting on beat so as it seems like part of the act.

you can change tempo while the sequencer is playing. but not if youve recorded or overdubbed and havent hit stop yet.

I can confirm this behavior with punch in/out. This can definitely be a hindrance to live play.

You can still change seq and tempo as long as you do not puch out, but you would have to be careful not to insert unwanted notes when navigating.

I will make sure Akai gets this info.
