mpc 1000 long term availability...

i barely ever sign in here but i figured i'd share this thought... is it kinda crazy to think... the mpc 1000 is obviously discontinued... now I love the 2500 too but for all extensive purposes i'm talking about the 1k right now... is it crazy or what to realize this machine is extinct... like... if i had spare cash laying around i would probably buy multiple ones simply because its the most valuable item in my studio (next to the voyager and juno)... and one day it may be like pulling the dentist's teeth trying to find these boys.. just a thought. we may be paying $1000 again for a decent 1k one day... laugh at that now but ONE DAY it may be true

ps shout out the JJ the illest OS writer to ever do it, lol... for real... jj os on the mpc is like god giving you his OS. lol ok i'm out.

Yep, and many official parts are no longer available now either, Nukai stopped making the bulk of them earlier this year.

I think there's ALOT of MPC1000 units out there though, I don't forsee a supply problem any time remotely soon.

What parts have they discontinued?

I for one am unable to find the Memory Card Flash Ejection Trigger and MPC stuff does not expect to get it in. So, if anyone has a lead on one, please let me know. Thanks!

From what I've heard I believe it's more a case of which parts haven't they discontinued (or potentially discontinuing) .

Basically if you think you'll ever need a part, grab it now while it's still available. Obviously there's a lot of parts that are generic, and hopefully mpcstuff will be able to make their own versions of others,

I have but about a year ago and nothing. He didn't expect to have any in the near future. You did however remind me that I should hit em up again (especially since im in Pasadena CA as well). Just called and they are out until Jan 5th. I'll try again then. Thanks for the reminder and hopefully he's gotten some trashed units.

I've spent some time sourcing different items because I used to buy junk 1k's and fix them for resale. I started with 6 units and eventually made it to where I build mine completely maxxed out and only had around $20 invested in it
