Simple question - i'm new to this subject and could not find an approriate answer for it:
How can I play sounds / samples that are already inside the Mpc by using a foot pedal, such as a Roland Kd7 or any other from electronic drums ?

Through the footswitch channels 1 and 2 works ?
Or is it a MIDI issue ?

Just wanna play live as a "drummer" and have more options also installing external pads.

Tks a lot.

You'll need to connect your electronic drums to a midi trigger unit, be it the brain that came with your kit or something like an alesis I/o. That will convert the signals from your drums into midi. Then midi out into mpc midi in, set up your pads with your drum samples. Set the pads with the correct midi note to match each midi note from the trigger unit. You'll be able to set up velocity switching on each pad for more realism. However you'll get best results hooking up to a laptop running a dedicated drumming vsti, like superior drummer, bfd etc.

Not sure what's possible with the foot switch, I seem to remember jjosxl might be able to assign alternative functionality to these, but I believe it's all sequencing functionality, don't think you can trigger pads.

Alright, so i need the MIDI controller (from the electronic drums) in order to use the pads and play with the mpc samples - combining the midi notes.
Thought i could only use the foot pedal(trigger) and connect to mpc then play the samples already in it.

I'll look forward in the MIDI section;

Thanks a lot for the info.
