Hi, this is my first post here. I recently was given a Black MPC1000 for free. I've used the 2000 and the 2000XL in the past so I'm pretty familiar with how it's supposed to work. This MPC1000 was hardly used by the previous owner. He's a friend of mine and he only bought as an impulse buy a few years ago while he was out of town and wanted to make some beats on the road. The MP is in excellent condition with no signs of wear and tear on it.
Here's my issue. When I press the transport buttons the Pad Bank changes. This happens everytime. A lot of times when I am about to record a track I go to hit some pads and get no sound only to realize that the Pad Bank has changed and it's very annoying. Another thing I've noticed is that when I finish recording a track and go back to hear what I recorded I have to unmute the track I just recorded. Why does the track automatically mute? Sometimes after recording and then hitting Stop and then Play I find out that nothing was recorded at all.
Another issue is my Shift key doesn't work like it's supposed to either. When I want to name a track or sequence I can't use the Shift and left or right directional key to enter spaces or delete.
I thought this might be an issue with the Akai OS so I installed the free JJOS and I get the same results. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if there is a fix for this? any help would be greatly appreciated.
