Hey guys,
I'm sure you have all heard this a million times... and I tried searching for an answer in the forum but I don't see any other obvious threads.
I recently bought a used MPC 1000, over all is in fairly good cosmetic condition.
The previous owner had installed the hard drive adapter and a hard drive, ram upgrade, new pads and pad sensors, and JJOS.
The unit seems to function fine with the exception of a few tac switches which are a little sticky.
However after about a half hour to an hour of use the sound level suddenly drops and starts to crackle and pop.
I have taken the unit apart to check for loose components, and pinched cables... I don't see anything obvious.
I also tried removing the hard drive and and ram upgrades to make sure it wasn't an issue with either of those...
Even with the upgraded components removed I still get the sound issue after a bit of use.
One difference I notice with the ram removed is that when I try to time stretch a sample the unit completely powers down (time stretching works fine with the ram in). I realize this may be because there is not enough memory to preform the time stretch... but I would assume it would give me some sort of error rather then crashing and shutting down?
I also have also done a factory reset and restored the OS back to factory OS, and JJOS free.
Does anybody else have any experience with any of these issues?
I got the MPC for fairly cheap so replacing the main PCB with the cpu isn't out of the question I just don't want to shell out the $300 for a new cpu assembly if thats not the issue.
Thanks in advance!
