To start with

1 had noticed that sometimes simple patterns like a straight 16th note high hat line would not sound the same everytime. so i recorded the same beat into pro tools 5 times and compared the waves and i was right, the waves i recorded looked noticably different each time, just like i was hearing it.

2. I have written a couple tracks, but during the process I noticed that as my mpc was repeating a sequence, at random times- certain samples would not play.

3. got a song with 2 drumloops in it. 1 at track 1 and the 2e at track 2. On playback it works fine untill i mute the tracks. when muting track 2 track 1 also mutes and vice versa.

4. when i want to give my program or sequense a new name i can't use the numeric button

probably the easiest one (but i can answer it)...

OK, first move the cursor over to a blank spot. Next, spin the wheel clockwise and you will see something like this !@#(%(&)^*$1234567890.
The numeric button doesn't work...just scroll with the wheel until the desired number...

i can confirm 1 & 2. 3 seems to be a mute group problem, so you have to disable the mute groiups for the two tracks....

Dont think issue 2 is a mute group problem. I have also experienced this dropout-bug without using this feature.

it isn't, maybe corrupt wav-files but than i don't know how that occurs. made them with reason and editted them with soundforge.

more bugs anyone

Akai netherlands had confirmed issue 1. Hope for 1.06 soon

@jessiah it shouldn't be that hard to correct issue 4 if you ask me

I constantly hear issue 1.

Issue 2 is very random but i think slightly linked to issue 3.
I personally never use mute groups but i'm gonna investigate to see if i can force samples to drop out.

With issue 3, make sure that the note duration is exact, ie. not overlapping the end of the sequence or the next note on event of the same loop/sample.

In theory, you should not have to do this as it should just retrigger when the next note on event is reached with no fuss, but somehow trimming the note duration to what is needed(i.e. to the last tick before the next note on) seems to solve the problem of the loop dropping out.

Also, i have noticed that when a loop is running, if it does cut out, it always seems to cut out right on the first beat of a measure.
This is why it is important to trim note durations to only what is needed, as i think the 1000 is recognizing the note off event from the previous loop right after the next one is triggered.

May be wrong on that theory, but has worked for me.

@moogens issue 2 has not occur with my mpc, but if you go back to the shop where you bought it and you can reproduce this issue hopefully they'll contact akai just like my dealer did to set things right.

@Jigginz [[With issue 3, make sure that the note duration is exact, ie. not overlapping the end of the sequence or the next note on event of the same loop/sample.]]

Issue 3 occurs with 2 seperate tracks and 2 seperate drumloops. When i mute track 1 (drumloop 1) 'zum beispiel' track 2 and/or drumloop 2 will mute also. So I dont'expect this has anything to do with the duration of my drumloops.

I've noticed the next problems with the compressor on two different mpc1000's. They both affect the normal compressor and the master effect compressor:

5. Assign a pad with a snare to the compressor. Set the compressor gain to -20. Hit the pad. When I do this I get a click at the end of the sample.

6. I like to make big kick and snare sounds by only compressing the tail of the sample and leave the attack part uncompressed. You can do that with every compressor but not with the mpc1000. The attack time is way too short.

To test the attack time:
Set the threshold to its lowest value and the ratio to it's highest. Now hit a pad with a snare sample and increase the value of the attack from 0 to highest.
When I do this there's no difference in sound from 0 to 85. At highest level the attack time is so short it's completely useless, it's more like a click.

Are there more people having this bugs or is it just me?

Yes, i am also aware of the poor attack time of the compressor.

Can someone confirm or deny this bug?

New bug:

When you use 'note repeat' on 2 samples where on of them have been assigned to an effect to 'interact' with, the other non-assigned sample adapt the same slider parameter.
