Hey all! I'm kinda new to all this manual MPC adjustment stuff so... this might be kind of confusing as my knowledge is quite limited.
I recently soldered on a new tact switch for the down arrow button. I didn't disconnect the board it rests on entirely, instead I kept the pads connected as well as the cable that comes out of the bottom of the pads... (I'm assuming that one is connected to the card reader?) If you're confused: I followed this video
Anyway, the soldering of the button was a huge success, and the new one works great. I flipped the MPC on and everything was gravy. I had turned it on a few times since with no problems and even made a new beat I was pretty stoked about.
This morning I booted it up and it immediately tried to load everything on the SD card... which was confusing and very unusual. I turned it off and then flipped it back on hoping it was just a one-time-bug or something, but it did the same thing. So I flipped it off, took the SD card out, and turned it back on. Worked great! Except for then when I went to load up my new beat, the samples in the D bank weren't registering. Like, they were loading but not making sound.
The only things I can think of are:
1. A cable got tugged in just the wrong way so that something electrical is bugging out.
2. My JJ OS might just need to be updated. I'm at work right now and can't check what version I have, but I bought the thing used about 4 years ago and have never updated the OS.
Sorry if this is kind of a wreck. Anybody have any ideas to help?
