How do I preserve my MPC 1000?

Well, we all tend to try new stuff, some of us try live instruments, other people try computers and midi controllers like maschines, but after a while you return to your MPC right?
I started picking up live instruments and I don't want to sell my MPC, it holds a lot of memories and I bet that I can use it from time to time as an instrument too
but during that time, how do I preserve my MPC, after all I live in a hot humid area, and I don't want anything to happen to my MPC!
How do you keep your MPCs safe when it's not on the top of your desks
Do you guys have any tips or pieces of advice
If you do, please throw them bellow!

Vaccuum seal it, put it in a box that it won't bounce around in, and store it in a dry decent temperature 65 - 75 degrees about. I think that should work.
