Interesting MPC2000 vs MPC1000 thread in GS

Really interesting the intensity (and sometimes insults) this gear can inspire !

Fascinating mix of opinion/prejudice/hard facts ... but also some good technical considerations particularly on the (alleged ?) differences in envelope attack, filter resonance settings, components, circuitry, etc.

ya the thread was super informative! and hilarious to boot. i had never heard anything about the differences in envelopes or filters or anything, so that was cool to read about...not sure if its true tho.

when it comes to the things like envelopes and software related things like that... i am not sure. The 2000 has it's OS, the latest 1.72 version and that is final (goodluck finding the earlier less featured versions)... but then how many OS versions exist for the 1000? 5 or 6 or more? JJOS has the free one which is still popular and used, there is the xl, version 3 i believe.. or what ever the later version's number was but still people stuck with the previous one for some features they use... then you have the jumbo screen version... are the envelopes and things of that nature all identical on all those OS versions? has anyone made the comparison or did the commenters mention which version they use?

Although the topic has been discussed to the death, it is still "touchy" subject among MPC users... A lot of nonsense stated on the thread.

I've never used MPC-1000, but for MPC-2000 and MPC-2000XL, I can say that MPC2000s color samples, which some people seem to like it.
