beats sounding 'flat' on pc

when i record beats or sequences in audacity, they sound really flat compared to on the mpc1000 itself, i turned off the default effects on the master on the mpc, so why does it sound so different on the pc?

Which audio interface do you have for the PC, and what type of cables are you using?

mpc is connected to a simple numark mixer, the mixer is connected to my pc through USB.

It could be the mixer or it could be the recording levels are too low. How about your cables? What are you using? Are there any adaptors?

just basic rca and jack cables. How would i up the recording levels, do you mean normalizing or amplifying after recording?

Use the mixer's inputs to adjust your levels, or adjust them in Audacity.

thanks for the help! i think ill just stick to recording the main out in the mpc itself to keep the sound neutral.
