Blue-body MPC1000 with upgraded pads, maxed out RAM. A little while after I got it the jog wheel began to go until it wasn't able to jog left anymore (still goes right just fine). I picked up a replacement pot for the rotary jog wheel and soldered it in, but it didn't fix the problem. In the process of opening the unit, I found that the ribbon cable attaching to the lower left-hand side of the board had become unglued and nothing was holding it onto the contact point. It's too small and delicate to fix with my hands, and I still don't know if/how it's related to the jog wheel issue.

Given these issues, would it be worth it to have this unit repaired (by mpcstuff.com or whoever) as opposed to replacing it? Thanks for any input.

worth it? only you can answer that. i would. you can do it yourself, nothing inside is really that hard to deal with. just be very careful of the ribbon connection hardware. mpc stuff sells all the parts you need.

or ill fix it for a fee. holla! post up some pics...
