Hi folks,
I recently bought a second hand MPC1000 with the MPC Stuff fat pad upgrade as well as new knobs for the Rec Gain and Main Volume and new wooden side panels. Everything works fine apart from when I try to record in to the MPC I can't seem to adjust the input volume at all. Moving the Rec Gain knob does nothing and while some sound does come through I can't actually amplify it enough to create useable samples.
I noticed the Rec Gain knob seems almost slightly pushed in compared to the Main Volume one and is a bit stiff to turn in comparison so I think it might be a faulty rotary encoder. I was wondering if anyone had experienced something similar before or could help me determine whether or not the rotary encoder is actually faulty before I buy a new one and get someone to install it? Also where would be best to buy a replacement encoder if necessary (I'm based in UK)?
