MPC samples/CF problem

Hey guys,

I'm new here, I checked the forum and I'm not sure my problem have been treated yet...

I got a problem with my MPC since I'm on the OS JJ Free : when I try to save a sample it says "file exists" (it actually doesn't exist), and I "replace" it, no problem.
Since few months, I saw that many of my samples, notably those which began by letters QRSTUVWXY or Z are not available from my CF card via the MPC, but I have them actually when I check on my laptop with USB.

I downloaded and installed the last Os JJ free and format my CF, but it doesn't change anything, and I actually think I lost more samples...

An idea, anyone ?

Ok, so after a day trying everything I can, I finally realise that the MPC read me only about 1000 files... So I check and found this thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=179929 and that's it ! MPC can only read the first 1000 files of a folder.
I re-organise my samples and now everything is back and available... except all my programs containing samples who move from original folder to new ones. Anybody got a tip for that ? Or I'll have to do it myself prog by prog... ?!

Hmmm Actually all my files have short names, the new problem is really the path between the program, the old places and the new ones.

So... I installed MPC Maid (free editor) and while reading the manual, I learnt that the MPC can't find samples of a program which are not in the same file directory. So, I actually have an other problem...

it seems useless to create some folder for "snares", "kicks", "bass" etc... actually, because it will duplicate them to play them in programs...

Yes, file duplication is the MPC way. Each project must be contained within the same folder as file references are relative, not absolute, so just get used to having multiple copies of some samples and programs.
