I recently just purchased my MPC 1000, and have been making use of it with the basic knowledge I got. Everything's been running smoothly until I started getting directory errors while saving.

I've been trying to troubleshoot the issue, and I've done a bit of research, but yet to find a solid solution. I last bypassed it by saving everything at once - and the samples/seq/pg I just used are on my memory card, however I don't want to shut the MPC off and everything to suddenly disappear.

Some of the samples I had in sequences for some reason were lost, which leads me to believe the flash card could be corrupt, I hope not..

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Akai OS has a bug that causes directory errors, something to do with the way it formats your card/drive. The solution is to install the free JJOS and reformat your card in JJOS (this is one of the bugs JJOS fixes).

Worth considering getting more than one card BTW, so in these kinds of situations, you can just swap the card and save your work on that one. Also remember to regularly backup. Here's a couple of articles that might help:
