when makin hip hop, whats your average tempo

im usually around 98-100, some peopel think thats too fast, but i love rhyming over faster beats

what are you guys usually aound, ive made beats as low as 91.3 i think it was and now im working on a 102.4 beat. its crazy fast, but it needs to be, it will be up soon enough

I use 75 - 115 bpm thats just me tho.

I love 92... slower beats at 87-90 faster beats 94-97 it really depends on the sample, and if i feel like making a "rap" friendly beat...

ive gone from 54 on a paul mcartney sample to 127 when i was playing the keys

I program all my beats in double time. If I want the beat to 95bpm, yhen I program at 190bpm.

why double time? explain the advantages to me

Just try it. the advantages become self evident.

If you double the tempo you get double resolution, but you also get strange groove settings when using groove quantise.
i'd rather stick to using the adequate tempo.

double time programming is too hard for me over about 150 (75) BPM...i just like it cuz of the doubled resolution,and u dont have to wait so long for the 4 beat count in.
