Shed a lil' light if your in the know y'all

last week i was working on a big project so my MPC was on for like 5 or 6 days straight without rest. so on the last day of working on the project while i was finalzing ish, my screen just dimmed on its own. it dimmed like half the brightness on its own. after finishing, i turned it off and when I turn it on now the lighting is very very faint. Im sure the screen light just got weaker after those 6 days of me having it on. Has this ever happened to any of y'all? Anyone have an idea what I should do now? Get at me cause its dark in here.

Sure you didnt bump into your contrast settings?

If it ain't the contrast setting something may be wrong indeed.
Assuming that the screen is backlit with a EL-Foil (Electro-Luminating) it is technically "normal" to loose brightness over time. But in 6 days ?

On my search for modification possibilities (also the backlitcolor) I found a lot of resources. The "half-time" of most foils is stated somewhere between 600 & 5000 hours. The 5000 hour foil is used for civil and military aircrafts though. I don't know what Akai is using but in the worst case you should get 600 hours divided through 24 hours a day = 25 days of non stop useage before you would notice half a reduction of brightness. Also the changing is happening slowly over time, not suddenly as you are stating.

it seems strange that just over 6 days, that would have happened. it has gotten worst so im pretty sure that i didnt accidentally decrease the contrast. i dont know, do i contact akai and send it in?

hells yes send it in. if it ain't workin the way it's supposed to; let em know (assuming your warranty is still valid)

somehow i guess i had dimmed it on my own by doing hella shit at once. shift + data wheel was all i was. thanks alot yall, i was scared there for a minute.
