Greetings to all
was wondering if I could receive some advice etc on doing this battery powered mod by myself,
Modular sound discontinued his kit series and I wasn't able to get one. Ive been doing some research on the site and came across this 2013 thread in which a user Mqueue accomplished this mod using a 12v battery similar to the one SenseiA mentioned
viewtopic.php?p=1459472#p1459472they used an alternative power supply :
The new power supply is a PicoPSU..($25 + shipping):
http://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-80 Which has a DC large barrel connector, 12v
an ATX extension cable to access the wiring on the PicoPSU
then they stated:
" Cut the ATX extension cable and MPC wiring harness in half-- Match up the wires on the new power supply to the MPC wiring harness (the wiring is too bulky at the moment) "
This part confused me. Im looking for advice on how to go about .
Is it possible to just make a new connector cable between the Mpc harness and the new power supply? without having to cut into anything. or is his way simpler
The post continues and has a pinout chart (right side 20 pin for the Picopsu)
https://www.smpspowersupply.com/connect ... pinout.GIF Im not sure I completely understand this process, Is the pico meant to be the lone item left in the Mpc with it rewired to the original harness? (battery can be anywhere)
Thanks any advice is appreciated.
