hey people!
it's 2023! a lot of people has access to 3d printers, makerspaces, fablabs etc...
i think it might be a good idea to do something like a crowd funding to find an alternative button design to minimize the wear on both button and tact switch, which we all know is the only real hardware issue of the 1000\2500 units...
i can't believe we are totally unable to find a better solution nowadays!
what do you think? any candidate for experimenting an alternative design? would you put some $$$ to fund such an enterprise?

Hello,

I just finished up my 3d model for a replacement jog wheel for the MPC 1000/500
It has the mpc 2000xl syle with the litle spot for your finger. I printed it using an fdm printer.

Feel free to leave a like ;)

When it comes to 3d printing buttons, i think they would need to be printed with a resin printer since thin structures are difficult to print on "normal" fdm 3d printers. I don't own one

Templates for buttons would be great. I've got a Note Repeat button held together with superglue, it's lasted a good year or so but expect it'll go at some point. I'm in the UK so an MPC Stuff replacement would be pretty pricey once the postage is factored in.

Somebody did get them printed a few years back but they've not been on the forum for a long time which is a shame: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=164933

Can you do a jog wheel in white?? Mpcstuff doesn’t have white jog wheels for the 1000

With the 3d print file you can print it in any color you want.

I don't think I'll be able to print Wheels out for people since my printer is crappy and I'm located in europ not the US.

There are 3d rpinting services online that you can send the file to you might only need to make the part that connects to the actual encoder a bit tighter.
If you have any questions don`t hesitate to ask them ;)

given the rate at which these buttons break on the 1000\2500 i still find it strange that there isn't almost anyone doing business with better designed 3d printed buttons and maybe a better replacement tact switch model (they tend to break easily too!) too small a market niche? i wonder how many people still use a 1000\2500 nowadays...
