Hi everyone,

I'll try to summarise here what I did with my mpc 1000 before ending up having this very annoying issue:

1. MPC 1000 3.16, 16mb RAM
2. I play with it a few times, it once shuts off on its own and I turn it on again (I thought maybe i move the power cable or something)
3. All good, it keeps working.
4. I install osxl2 (free, did not purchase the password yet). All good.
5. I go to a store and get a 256mb RAM, I test it right there, the mpc reads it and it works, all good.
6. I go home I start loading some samples and the screen at some point starts getting blurry.
7. From blurry, then it only shows lines.
8. I turn on and off the mpc and it's in a boot loop, it shows the boot message at the beginning, no error but it does not start.
9. I turn it on and off a few times (with and w/o the RAM, or the flashcard) and then it does not even show the boot message anymore, it only shows a blank screen.
(It seems like the buttons dont respond either cause the lights dont go on if I press mode for instance).

I have no idea what's goin on.
Any help is much appreciated :worthy:
Thank you all.

PS. I have videos of everything I mentioned if needed.

Update on my previous message:

I kept the mpc ON for about 40 minutes and it started doing something (the additional RAM is out at the moment)

1. It went ON but with the screen flickering
2. The buttons on the right seem to respond but the pads dont
3. It then started to reboot again and kept doing just this over and over

I am not sure if it is an OS issue or hardware.

Has anyone experienced this or has some tips ?
I read a few posts where someone said it was RAM, someone said there was a loose cable in the mpc... any help or info is much appreciated.

Thank you

I read your post and I'm not clear on something. All you did was remove the ram and try to turn the machine on again a few times right?

Did you get around to opening the machine, removing and reconnecting the cables?
