alright people just wan an opinion or 2

this is what ive done up till now.

ive sampled into my mixer then to my laptop whered i'd chop up sample and send them to my mpc through USB.

thsi was wicked at first cause i could see the wave forms and precisely edit them.

i just changed it up a bit and now i sample directly into my mpc, and chop there, and for example since there isn't a zoning, i just extract different parts of a loop or whatever. this method is so much faster and i cant believe i did it any other way.

at first i thought using the PC would be faster, but its a nuisance.

anyways im just curious as to who else if anyone samples to PC first.

also i noticed a difference is not sound quality, but the vibe of sounds. i could sample the same thing on each MPC and laptop and play through the same speakers and it feels difference. i love the mpc sampling engine.

oh and onemore thing.

ive been gone a few months i haven't had much spare time. but ive noticed a lot lately, withing the past few weeks, when i do visit, that theres a lot of Bullshi* going on in these forums. theres to many peopel complaining about not having certain featured. well guess what? see that insert at the back of your mpc, its kinda shaped weird and is known as a USB interface? well stop comlpaining, get a fricken cable for 10$ and do all the sh*t that the mpc cant on your computer.

can we keep these forums positive here?

I totally agree w/ u there, but people to also read the feature first, and se if this the machine for them. instead complaing about what it doesn't have, but you right get a usb cable, and use a pc.

I second that...I did mad research b4 I bought my 1k and it was stressed in Scratch that it works best using a program to chop your samples...I use Recycle to chop mine, then use a 3rd party pad editor to assign the sample to pads, and I'm good...very simple...find a solution instead of crying about the problem...

its just so funny why people would spend almost a grand if not more for a piece of equipment and not do their homework.

i dont really find it that hard.. i pick a long sample, extract a part of it
roughly with long head's and tails, do this 4-5 times and then go to
progam and assign it to pads. then when i have it on pads i can trim
em the way i want. be sure to use the shift+left arrow when trimming, it's
the basis of fast editing.

i can do everything you said, what i dont get is how to assign the extrtacted parts to pads

By jax Thu Apr 21, 2005 5:57 pm
You have to go to the PROGRAM screen and create new program then you check for the sample you extracted (you had to give it a new name)...you actually have to press the pad you want it assign to and then you search for the sample.then go to the other parameters to make sure its on mono or poly (whatever the sample is) get back to me if more question Jus.

P.S. Stop talk*ng shh*t about zoning this timestretch that dont get me wrong it be wicked to have but some of yall really look like ya bought the 1000 only because it was the newest mpc and didnt even look at what yall were buying.all those features with be crazy and all but thats not what you bought it for!!!
