I think the best way to start is with a rithmic line (drums or melody) so you can use it as a tempo guideline.

i wasnt asking what I should do first.im just asking to see what who prefers wat just outa curiousty.
personly my self i do ether or , some times ill make 10 drum lines, find some samples and throw it together,i find it harder to start off with a melody becuase then you end up having to work a steady drumline into an un even tempo
