if this update does come out it all depends on if your using a pc, or some other form of hardware that already has the features, that will be implemented in this update. Need more info on what your already using. for me personally this update is not really that important. I new what the 1k has, and what it didn't have when i purchased it. Plus i use my pc right along with it. but like i said it all depends on what your already working with.

Metafor, this guy ain't trippin' on the can and cannots of the MPC 1000....he is merely asking wether or not he should he would benefit from upgrading his OS from whatever it was out of the box....witcho sensitive azz. 8)

That being said, Mr. Mind, it depends what you are doing with it. The newest OS (or even the newer ones) contain a bug fix that reportedly cuts off a bit of a sample that you might not have wanted cut. Also, the MIDI clock timing has been improved, so if you plan on slaving the 1k to anything, then you'd definitely better upgrade. Unless the afore mentioned are issues to you, then you don't really need a new OS....the OS you have is stable enough.

Like I said it all depends on what he is using in order for me to answer his question and let him know if he would benefit by the update. I know hes not trippin off the dos or donts. but unless he provides the right info i can't tell him hes going to benefit from the update. this is how i meant it sorry if it didn't sound that way.

Best way to decide whether you need an OS update or not is to look at the changes/fixes that have been applied. If they do not affect you, then you don't need it.

For example, my Fantom XR has a 1.01 update on the Roland site but there are only 2 things changed and neither apply to how I use it. On the other hand, the newer V2 update will open up new possibilities and once it arrivesthe OS will be updated.

If it improves on what you already have, get it. If it doesn't affect the way you work in a good way, don't.

I just dont want to end up with some random bugs that i wouldnt have had otherwise. so far, i havent had any problems with the timing. here's the set up:

MPC1000
Triton LE
Korg MS2000

I'm using the 1K as the sequencer for everything else.

so whats up with this update biz?

If you can, go ahead and update it for the experience of updating. It's a breeze and it won't hurt anything.

1.05 to 1.06 fixed alot of crashes that were happening on my MPC

since i got 1.06 its been stable so I haven't updated

if you are still on 1.05 might want to consider this; try to trim a sample while its playing and u'll see what I mean
