Sequencing my VST's on my MPC...

Here's what I am trying to do...I want to hook my casio keyboard to trigger my VST's that are on Cubase. From there I want to hook up my keyboard to my MPC so I can sequence the sounds (The VST's from cubase) on the MPC over my drums/samles/etc...I've read many posts about how to hook up my keyboard to my MPC but even that doesnt work...this is how I have it now.

MPC MIDI out

A MIDI - USB converter (My computer doesnt have a MIDI input)
Than the USB into my computer.
With these, I can't sequence neither sounds from my keyboard or the VST's from Cubase. Any help would be great, thanks.

In your MPC you have to assign a MIDI channel on the track you want to sequence. This is done in the main screen

also, hit MODE, then PAD 9. make sure your have this page configured correctly.

I've tried all that...even on Cubase I set it to local off and other settings that I read about that are supposed to fix this problem...it definately is possible right...to sequence my vst's with my MPC while using my keyboard to trigger the sounds from Cubase? I know it's confusing but this is one of the main things I need to figure out to make some of that hot sauce.

Well what you are trying to achieve is simple as hell.

work in steps,

first of all u need to get your casio and mpc working together first. so hok them first and only to make sure that your casio is sending and reciving midi signals.

two, now take the midi out of B of the mpc to the PC that will send and the midi signal to the PC to the VSTi that you are using, make sure that the MIDI Channels are set up right for this is important to make sure they talk to other on the same channels but there own exclusive channels as well so there is no cross talk.

think of it as a mobile phone conversation, everyone is on the same network but we have exclusive connections to the person we are talking to. IE, we called their phone number not everyones.

When I hook up my keyboard with my MPC I hear my MPC drum noises when I hit my keyboard. I want to either at least hear my keyboard noises and sequence them in the MPC or best yet, hear my VST's when I press my keyboard and sequence in the MPC. What am I doing wrong or what do I have to do right?

this is gonna sound dumb but do you have the "type" set to midi instead of drum on the bottom of the main page? also the check the midi channel on the bottom right hand side of the main page. do you have the midi setup page set to omni a/b or "as track"?

i dont know just trying to throw out some more variables to investigate.

On the Main page:
I have the MIDI (on the bottom right under Mute) set to 1 A
I have the type (bottom left) set to MIDI
My program is off
on the MIDI/Synch page:
I have 1 as my active track receive channel
Soft thru: As track...
Like I said before, when I hit my keys on the keyboard, I hear the sounds from my MPC program (Only when there's one set) when the program is off, I hear nothing...I have my VST's on Cubase which I want to hear when I hit the keys and sequence it through my MPC...please for the love of god somebody help me!!!

READ THE MANUAL! if u had done this u woluld not be confused.
Remember what i said about dialing the number u want?

The Midi channel. has to be setup for both devices to understand whats going on. Bruv u cant expect us to spell it out for u when u could have just took time out to read in in the manual, it would have been so quicker to than to ask us.

Thanks for the help...but dont you think I would have read the manual before posting on this thing and waiting for smart a** remarks from people like you? I use this place as my last resort...as you can clearly see from the other times I posted, everything is connected the way it says to in the Manual and everything is on the same channel. Thanks for your 2 cents though, next time give me 5 and maybe it'll help me fix this problem.

1. You should have read my post before posting your reply
2. If I knew these things without the manual then i would sympathise with you but I learnt by reading the manuals!
3. So by how you have responded to this replay shows that yeah you can read, but do you read it through properly?

I did this in number form cause it seems you needed help reading as well as understanding that someone was willing to take time out to help you.

Alright, either way you still haven't helped me yet...that is what these forums are for right?
