I've been using the MPC1000 alone and I was wondering what software do some of you out there use with the 1000. Any recommendations?

I use Logic Pro 6, audacity, MPC pad 187. I use them all for every project.

I use Acid 5, Sound Forge7, Reason 2.5, Pro tools 6.1. But I use Acid about 90% of the time, and occasionally rewire reason through acid, which is pretty dope. I enjoy using Acid w/ the mpc1k. They are bothe really user friendly. which allows you to move faster, and not hinder you from your creative process. But I have been lookin at cubase also. What is the coolest thing is that most of these apps can all be rewire together. Plus it all depends what you want out of a program. I like acid b/c of all the great looping features. But if you want a multi tracker then you could look at cubase, pro tools, vegas, etc.

Sound Forge and Ableton Live, all I ever need. I have tons of over stuff, but thats all I use. The rest is redundent. I've found less is more for me. Occasionally I use Recycle, but thats it.

yeah, i use acid. the workflow with it is so good. i use cubase and reason
later but getting stuff together with acid is quick, easy and painless. no fannying about trying to get beats matching.

theres less to worry about in Acid. I'm realizing that less is more. Its rare for me to use these programs on a regular basis. for awhile i wanted the next best thing, but started to realize i love learning what i already have, and becoming better w/ what I have. Plus it makes it easier on the wallet.

I have explored using express keyboards from native insturments and using them as sound modules. It works pretty good, but I don't like having a CPU around.

I used acid pro for looping and timestretch and recycle(I love instantly slicing samples up and then dragging them into a bluebox program)

and cubase to add plug in FX

Yo Metafor,
How do you use Acid and the MPC together?
Whats your workflow like?
is it like,
1. sample using mpc
2. load samples from CF to acid
3. Arrange, etc.

or

1. get samples from computer/Mpc
2. timestretch and make programs
3. load up/play/record + sequence in mpc

or
1. etc etc etc

??? thanks, i'm just a lil confused as to when you decide you've had enough doing something on the mpc and start using acid. Also isnt it a lil disrupting changing from the mpc and then having to get it all set up in the comp?

yo metafor, you know pro tools is now up to 6.9? if you have a legitimate copy, you may be eligible for a free upgrade.

Hey thanks for the responces. Acid seems to be working pretty good for a lot of you. Can anyone give me a link or info on Acid, I'm not even sure what this software does. I tried google but with a name like Acid I really couldn't find crap about the program.

I dont use pro tools enough to want to upgrade. plus there weren't that many new things added to it. Usually when I use Acid and the mpc together. Its something like this. I dont sample through my mbox anymore since i've had my mpc. The mbox totally kills my sample compared to the mpc. so I'll sample off my turntable through my kaoss pad into my mpc. then save my sample on the mpc and then put my cf card into my and load the sample from there onto pc, and chop away, and or beatmatch the loop to the exact bpm that I had in mind. Once i get all the samples off of whatever I'm sampling then i'll save those loops onto a program through blue box and then throw it onto the mpc again and Freak it up from there. it sounds kinda long, but its actually really fast.
