Some purchase advice please

I was going to buy a brand new mpc1k for around 550 but have since seen a second hand one with the 128mb ram upgrade for 550. it comes in the box with manual, but no usb cable. silly question, but would you recommend i get this instead? i was attracted to the warrenty i'd get if i bought new, considering the scary stories i hear about buttons falling off...i'm in the uk. how much would the ram upgrade cost me?

did u happen to hear about the Google? you can do a search on ram, and on here as well to know what ram to look for. I should be nice but u have been here long enough asking questions so it should not be a suprise to you.

anyway it can range from £20 - 50 depends where u go.

if you buy a brand new MPC it doesnt even include a USB cable.

yeah and the usb sucks, just get a compact flash reader for your pc for 10 bucks

If there was anything wrong with the machine it probably would have gone wrong by now. Try and have a play with the 2nd hand machine. If it has a bad pad or damage (scratches) offer 500 quid cash. Remember, acquiring an MPC that you will spend so much time, money and effort on is like finding a beautiful woman, and the same rules apply - don't pay for a 2nd hand one without playing with it first!
