Grounding a turntable without a built in ground wire..

I have a sony PS-LX250H turntable, it's the only thing that is giving me a ground noise (I've tried dvds, xbox, vcr, tv, all good). I can imagine that the turntable needs to be grounded, but there's no ground wire. Read the booklet, no mention of ground wire or of an alternative way to ground the turntable. There's basically nothing metal on the case of the turntable so i wouldnt even know how I'd hook it up to my recievers ground screw. My question is, is there a way to even ground it if it has no ground wire? I'd hate to buy another turntable just for that ground wire sticking out of the back. Thanks.

do you have a pre amp for your turntable? a dj mixer? are you connecting the TT directly to the mpc? if so, you may need a mixer to connect your TT to and then connect the mixer to the phone in jacks on the mpc

i'm sorry, i just read this again. are you talking about hooking a TT to the mpc? if not then this thread is in the wrong section/topic. it should go in either production techiniques or off topic, as this has nothing to do with the mpc1000

very true it might be the cables, cheap cables had me fiddling for days, till i changed em to pros, now no more hum!
