When recording a sequence, with the MPC1000, on "track 1" why does "track 2" sometimes cut out?

It seems to cut out when one track's volume exceeds the second tracks volume. I have tried almost everything, but can't figure it out.

When recording a sequence... let's say I put a piano loop on track #1. on Track #2, I want some drums. Herein lie the problem, while recording a beat on track 2 (with track 1 also playing) track 1 will randomly cut out!

you probably have the same mute group for some of your samples.

i've never had the mpc cut out any notes unless i sit at my keyboard and hold down 30+ keys.
