Footswitch can't trigger Note Repeat?!

just picked up a boss FS-6 dual footswitch (http://www.zzounds.com/item--ROLFS6) hoping to use it for note repeat. i set it up right in the OTHER pad and tried it in both latch and momentary - unfortunately for some reason i can only get the tap tempo to work, not the note repeat. ie, if i hit the footswitch 4 times, it gives me a tempo - but it never does the sweet little note repeat that i want so badly.

any tips? anyone else had this problem with a footswitch? the manual implies that note repeat can be used with a footswitch...i'd be really upset if it turns out i blew 40 bucks for nothing.

Just tried it set up as TAP TEMPO. Seems like all I could get was the tempo change with 4 taps. No note repeat and I used my no-name pedal.

dammit! the manual was misleading. what the hell were they thinking? who wants to use an entire hand/finger to reach way the hell over to note repeat when drumming live?

this pisses me off more than any other (lacking) feature.

The "note-repeat reach" is just part of owning the MPC1K.
The hard thing for me is holding note-repeat while playing a bass line or melody on my keyboard.

i'm gonna have to design some mechanism to trigger it and hold it without reaching. when i devise something i'll let you guys know and take pictures.

I just bought a foot switch and was so disapointed not to be able to use the footswitch instead of the "note repeat" button...

By the way, did you notice that if you assign the footwitch to a pad the note repeat button will only repeat the pads, and not the pressed footswitch...

Any new features related to this in os 2.0 ?

yes. this will be fixed in os 2. i was thrilled to hear it.

man i was disappointed too - thanks for searching. my footswitch has just stagnated this whole time, waiting on my bookshelf to be freaked. soon...soooooon...

OS 2.0 will have an option for note repeat hold. I'm pretty sure I read that.

until then there's always the golden oldie: tape a woodpecker to your finger. (having pre-taught him the difference between 1/16, 1/8 etc.)
