Ok, so we all thought that the noise added to the end of samples had to do with which wav editors used to create the sample. I also thought it had to do with how many folders you "drag & drop" at once. I was convinced that the only way to get good writes was to transfer 1 folder at a time.

I know I was thinking this until I loaded all those drum kits from the AKAI WEBSITE... you know, the "Kit Of The Week" series.

I started by dragging one folder at a time...
Well, believe it or not, 3 of 12 kits I loaded had the NOISE at the end of the sample!!!!

What is even stranger is that I transfered those 3 folders again and they now load FINE!!!

Then I erased them all, and I dragged ALL 12 folders at once, and would you believe it... they all wrote FINE????

Tony

Has nothing to do with wav editors.

it must just be your mpc 1000, or your compact flash card reader. Or, you are loading the wav's rather than the pgm's, iirc the wav will not load loop points, but with the pgm it will, may be wrong though.

Using the USB link.
Running 1.07 (latest right?)

I do not think it is my MPC. It only happens every once in a while, and when I try to re-write the fles they write fine. I think it has to do with the OS and the USB link just be buggy.

i get this all the time, i just decay then or trim them off in the trim or program mode. cant remember where it comes from, i think it might be my sound forge or the way i sample it in.

I don't ever seem to have this problem but I will look out for it.

if you had it you would know. you'd get a full volume BLIP at the end of a sample. it's really really obvious when it is happening (as long as you play a sample to its end)

yeah you can trim it out, it's easy. annoying but easy. it's at a point i can do it in like a second. like i dont even think about it anymore, i just do it crazy fast by habit. that's how often it happens though.

and yeah, tony - it seems like it just happens at random right? that's how ive always thought of it. i have noticed that it happens either right when you put the wav on the card or it happens at some point when the mpc looks at the file on the card.

i try not to think about it cuz it'll start to drive me bananas

it must be your brand of flash card, dont trust the one included with the mpc or any dodgy no brand ones, even branded ones **** up every once in a while.

My pont is just that I do not think it has to do with the wav editor used... the corrupted files in question were FROM THE AKAI WEBSITE!!!

Tiger Vomit is right in saying it is RANDOM.

And I think the CF card brand might have something to do with it...

Though i am more inclined to believe that the MPC just does not have the most stable USB link!

What people with the external CARD READERS??? you all get these corrupted files ever???

no problem with card readers on my end.

and all the similar post i had seen on this matter involved the usb link.

i use a cf card reader and get the pops all the time still

along with some other really friggin annoying crap that started happening while trying to enjoy a nice weekend upstate with my mpc and fresh air

so yeah, not just USB link
