Just got a mpc, and it seems to work great but every time when i switch from (editing a) program to "main" the current sequence _always_ selects the just edited program for the currently selected track. it changes it without my knowledge.. this drives me nuts!!

is this normal behaviour???

its good practice to select the track first with the program u want, dont change a program from a track cause u will change it on the track. its not a bug its juist following your insturctions, except your not noticing what your doing.

well, if i change some samples in a program, mess around a bit, then see what my sequences are up about and then they change themselves, that's _not_ following my instructions i think? it becomes very risky to change some program settings just before a gig, sequences may come out quite different than expected...

Just select the track with the program you want to edit and then do your editing , or select an empty track or something , i never had any problems with that , just got to change your workflow.
But i must admit it's an issue they could have fixed.
Greetz...

thanks for the replies. i just found out how to program the program changes. i 'hard code' the right programs in my sequences now so i won't be unpleasantly surprised when i start a sequence after editing a program..

it _is_ a great machine!!

its not a bug. it simply follows u so that you dont looose track, all MPC's do this 2000, XL, 4000 etc.
