I was wondering if it's possible to set up my mpc and asr, so that i can edit samples on the asr and trigger the samples via midi on my mpc.

For example, if I had a snare as one of my asr instruments, could i play the snare using the mpc pads.

I've looked through both manuals, and I haven't figured this out; if it's even possible....

please help.

thanks

yes.

read the manual on midi connections, devices etc. also about local settings etc. this will enable u to do what u asked. u can do it the other way around if it was a keyboard, where u can trigger the samples on the mpc with a keyboard.

Yea, it's possible.

I don't have my equipment in front of me so Imma try to tell you as best I can from memory only.

Put the ASR-10 into MULTI IN mode under EDIT SYSTEM. Under EDIT TRACK, set the MIDI IN of the track with your snare sound to the same midi channel as the program you are using on the MPC1k.

In the MPC, go to PROGRAM mode and press the pad you want to trigger the snare with. Under NOTES (or something like that), assign the correct midi note number in the MPC to the corresponding key that has the snare sound on the ASR.

That's about it. Anyway, just so you know, it works great.

P.S. I've got an ASR-10 for sale if anyone is interested. I'll let it go for $500 plus S&H. It's in EXCELLENT condition cuz I take very good care of all my gear.
