would this be better or on point w/ a 4k i mean drag and drop off computer/ each other if the xr is a good sampler this must be a **** great combo w/ midi keyboard too

This is a good combo. I have them both. The Fantom XR is a sweet box. You may also want to check out the Motif ES (no sampling).

Although the Fantom XR has sampling I find it a pain in the a** to use and don't really use it much. The sounds of the XR are very useful. I also have maxed out the SRX expansion boards. (more sounds).

Really the MPC1000 on it's own or with any other external gear is great.

granted , what srx boards do you have?

I have complete orchestra, world connection,ultimate keys, supreme dance,platinum trax and studio srx boards.

I got the mpc 1000 and XR. This is a hot combo. My beats are sounding heatmakerish with only these two pieces. The XR can sample wav and aiff files, and it got 1GB of memory also. It has Time strecthing, normalizing, and reverse sampling. Get IT!!!

I just wish the dang XR had more outputs. 4 is a shame for a sweet box like this.

You can sample on the Motif ES I own one and I sample all the time y'all I am looking to cop a MPC 1000 later this month I am still going back and fourth between the 1000 and the 2000xl MCD. How are you guys getting along with the 1000?
