recently i've been trying to slave my 1k to cubase so that when i press record in cubase my 1k follows... this is all for audio data and no midi data...

i feel like i'm real close but just not quite there... there are two problems...

1) when i press record in cubase, my 1k doesn't follow, but when i press PLAY in cubase, my 1k does follow and then i can press record right after the cursor's moving and it will record the audio signal coming from the 1k... i'm pretty sure i should be able to press record and have it work but i must be doin something wrong... any ideas?

2) i think there's a latency issue going on because when i did have all my tracks layed out they were just all slightly off from each other... is there a way to change this in cubase so my tracks line up perfectly synced?

as always man any help is much appreciated...

thanks and PEACE fam,

how well do you know cubase? also do you have the audio outs from the mpc plugged in the right ins on your sound card? did you arm the tracks in cubase before you clicked record?

what type of soundcard are you using?

do you have the right sync clock set up in cubase?

ehyo sparq! thanks for the reply... i got an external sound card, a logitech thx system and my 1k is hooked up to that system (through a vestax)... cubase is a new program for me... it's quickly gained all of my respect and i see the potential for doing nice things within the program... i'm learning it quickly but i definitely don't know it too well. i matched the tempo in cubase to the tempo of my track on my 1k... i laid down about 8 or 9 tracks in cubase and 6 of them lined up perfectly... the other 2 or 3 were off beat...

i'm not sure if i 'armed' the tracks in cubase cause i don't know what that means... i think i had the right sync clock set up cause like i said most of my tracks lined up... my audio outs from my 1k are plugged into my mixer which is plugged into the audio ins on my pc... i don't know if any of what i'm saying is going helpful but i feel like there's just one small thing in cubase that's off and because i don't know it too well i'm having trouble figuring it out...

i got all my audio tracks lined up and my 1k starts playing when i hit record now, but like i said a few tracks just won't sync properly...

if you got any ideas get back at me when you get a chance...

hhmmm

you might have to try your latency settings, go to DEVICE SETUP and change your ASIO latency settings increase them and see, also make sure in cubase to edit your Project Setup EG, 16bit, 24bit, 44.1KHz etc. this is important cause it can sheg your recordings.
