Is there a way to convert 2000XL pgm's to 1000 format? I have bought from MPCSounds.com in the form of 2000LX and would like to use the programs on my 1000. I keep getting "Wrong File!!" when trying to use on my 1000. Also is there a program that would convert vice-versa?

Anyone?

I need to convert SND to WAV files, I've searched the forums but I got a little frustrated.

PS; I found the windows solution for single sound file conversion, but I only have Mac computers... no windows..

i know cool edit pro can load mpc2000xl .snd files and then you can save them as .wav

but i believe cool edit pitches up the samples for some weird reason...

It seems that the 1000 has a problem with the PGM file, is there a converter to change it from a 2000XL PGM to a 1000 PGM?

http://www.midicase.com
has a program for 1000 and one for 2000 that you can make your own program file, it says it loads waves and .snd files.

Just to set the record straight......PGM files do work in 1000 from a 2000XL

What does not work is .APS files

APS and ALL files are exclusive to the model they are created on.
Unfortunately due to every attempt made i have not been able to get someone to create a program to convert them, but I have found a work around.

1. On the MPC2000XL you have to save as PGM not APS and as WAV. (Yes the XL can save as WAV!!!)
2. Save each sequence as MIDI not the whole thing as an ALL file.
3. Make sure before hand if transfering to pc, (via zip or floppy) that each name of sound is WAV and the names are no more than 8 Characters long. This goes for MIDI names and PGM names too.

Once u have done this u can transfer to the 1000 and load them up.
If u read the website or the manual it would have told you what was compatible and what was not.

No there is no other way to do it so dont ask, trust me I have been doing this for a long time. This is also what stopped me buying a 1000 before hand cause of backward compatibilty issues. I hate AKAI for it.
