Midi.. "File too big:Can't Execute!!"

I just purchased a Machinedrum. Yay!

First thing I need to do is upgrade the OS. This sucker doesn't have state of the art stuff like um.. a usb port or anything. It relies on being sent the info it needs by midi.

I haven't been using midi much, bu I know that much that I need to load it before I send it. Ok.

So the midi file is 1408KB (this is the OS to be sent to the Machinedrum).
The Seq. Free is 1656KB.

Trying to load it into the MPC1K I get the "File too big:Can't execute!!" error message.

Help?

Thought I'd add a link to the midi file I'm trying to load. I'd be delighted if you'd care to give it a shot. Could it be that it has too many events?
