Well if "every producer I know has at least one MPC" :D i'm sure there are plenty with the 1000.

it is, yes, but most established producers have been around longer than the 1000, so i doubt any of them use it as a standalone.

Detroit's Octave One uses a MPC 1000 live since they came out. They switched up
from a MPC 2000XL to the MPC 1000. They just played Detroit's Fuse-In with 40,000 people checking them and their MPC out :)

Rude 66 and Sendex of Bunker Records in Holland also uses the MPC 1000

big up to sixtoo and buck 65 who both use mpc's live on stage and get buck nutty on em'! anyone ever been to a sixtoo show? guy stands on stage with his drum machine and throws and plays the most unreal beats while a turntablist, a guy on the keys, a bassist with mad effects pedals and brushsticks drummer just vibe out in a jam session... it's ILL.

Heres one in nas's studio.

look under photos. Click on the one where he's smoking in the studio.
The thing is he's also using a sp and a 2kxl.
