I'm thinking of getting an MPC1000 for live use - I reckon I can live with its limitations... Anyway, is it possible for me to use an external controller box (I've got a Kenton Control Freak SE) to modify effects parameters/filter cutoff etc? I had a look through the manual (and a search here) but couldn't find anything definite.

(As an example - let's say I wanted to use the control freak to set the levels of different tracks; like a mixer. this is what I have done in the past with my MMT8/Yamaha A3000 combo)

Cheers!

(edit) Ok; so after more digging around, it seems like this is not possible.. Is it possible with the MPC2000(XL)??

Basically, I'm after something that will be more portable than my A3000+MMT-8 - i.e. mostly MIDI sequencing. Any advice will be welcome!

(PS: why is there no UK entry on the 'countries' list at akaipro.com??)

?! an MPC (sequencer+sampler) can't replace my MIDI sequencer+sampler?! Surely not... :? I realise that I'll have to change my live working practices (but I do that anyway - I use Logic in the studio, then record/tweak stuff into the MMT) but I thought a mpc1k would easily do the sequencing side of things... Looks like a small mixer would be required to change levels etc., yeah?
